About TidyNook
Practical organizing, written for people who rent, live small, and don't have a garage to hide things in.
TidyNook is a small home-organizing site built for one kind of reader: people living in apartments, rentals, and small homes who want their space to work harder, without a full renovation budget or owning the walls they live in.
Most organizing advice online assumes a house, a garage, and no landlord. We write for the rest of us — renters, students, and small-space dwellers who need ideas that fit an actual studio apartment, an actual security deposit, and an actual weekend.
Who this site is for
- Renters who can't drill into walls or make permanent changes
- Students living in dorms or shared apartments
- Anyone in a studio, small bedroom, or one-closet home
- People who want ideas that don't require a truck-sized haul from a big-box store
What you'll find here
Every guide focuses on things you can do without permanent changes: no drilling into walls you don't own, no products that only make sense in a much bigger home. We cover closets, kitchens, bedrooms, entryways, bathrooms, and budget-friendly organizing picks — all written with small square footage in mind.
We try to be specific rather than generic. Instead of "declutter your closet," we aim for exact steps, exact product types, and ideas that work in a space you can measure in square feet, not square meters of storage room.
Our approach
We test ideas against three simple questions before publishing a guide:
- Does it survive a security deposit? Nothing that requires drilling, painting, or altering a rented space.
- Does it fit a real budget? We flag low-cost options alongside pricier ones.
- Does it actually fit a small space? No advice that secretly assumes a spare room or garage.
Where we're headed
We're just getting started, and new guides are added regularly. Upcoming topics include seasonal storage, moving-day organizing, and small-space furniture picks. If there's a space you're struggling to organize, we'd love to hear about it — visit our contact page to send a suggestion.
